Youth Engagement & Culture Assistant Program Coordinator Position Type: Temporary Part Time Contract, 6 months, 20 hrs. per week Salary Range: $ 24, 500.00 to $29,120.00 prorated Starting Date: As soon as possible Location: Toronto, ON
Background: The Hispanic Development Council will continue to strengthen the healthy and sustainable development of the community with the focus on social, economic and environmental equity. Our mandate is to accomplish its task, the Hispanic Development Council will implement work in the areas of research, policy analysis, professional development, networking and partnerships, selected service areas, community development and planning.
The Youth Engagement & Culture Program of the Hispanic Development Council is currently recruiting a new team member. This position has two main objectives:
1. To develop and strengthen the leadership skills of participant Latin American youth 2. Outreach Latin American youth across Toronto
Job Description: Responsible for overseeing the youth program activities in collaboration with Program Coordinator and or Executive Director. Assists Coordinator with day-to-day operation of service. Work directly with youth programs in their daily activities as needed. Ensure accurate recording of daily activities. Act as a liaison between community partners, youth and coordinator. role or liaison with HDC (e.g. participation in staff meetings), and other task to be assigned.
Responsibilities:

Requirements:
The applicant should have the following qualifications: Understanding of and communication capacity with marginalized youth Must be bilingual in Spanish and English Experience in program coordination relevant to the position Good working knowledge of arts community, of diverse artists and art forms, and appropriate contacts Some knowledge of the arts community, diverse artists, art forms, and appropriate contacts Creative mind always thinking outside of the box Ability to work with youth, parents, organization directors, other coordinators and volunteers Committed to the grassroots level work Ability to take initiative with regards to programming Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to assist in writing reports Willing to travel across the GTA Drivers license an asset Must be bilingual in Spanish and English Ability to work as part of a team
